SAFETY AND SECURITY

ROBINSON ISD

School Safety

AT ROBINSON ISD, SAFETY AND SECURITY OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF IS A TOP PRIORITY.

We Strive to create a "Robinson Strong" mentality ! All of our safety policy and programs are vetted and carefully crafted to ensure the safest environment possible . "Robinson Strong" means that we take a proactive approach to safety as we learn from past events and project what we need for the future. Promoting a culture where everyone works as one, training, anticipating, reporting, and caring for every student and staff member. " Robinson Strong" before an event and not after

HERE IS A LIST OF SEVERAL TIPS THAT WILL HELP KEEP OUR CAMPUSES SAFE:

  • All parents, visitors and volunteers must sign in at the office and produce a state issued photo ID.

  • If entering the school, you will be issued a visitor badge and it must be worn at all times while on the school campus. This temporary badge will need to be returned to office before exiting.

  • We ask that parents who need to contact their children during the school day do so through campus offices.

  • Please reinforce the message we give our students about the importance of not opening outside campus doors to let people in, even their friends or others they may know. This allows us to know who is on our campuses and to run visitors through the security clearance procedure at the front office.

  • Encourage your children to report any conduct or activities that might affect school safety.

  • In the event of any school emergency:

    • Watch the Robinson website for updates and instructions (risdweb.org).

    • Robinson ISD will use its School message site and Skyward to push out information for parents. We will also post information on the district Facebook and Twitter sites

    • Watch local media stations for reported instructions.

    • Do not come to your child’s campus unless instructed

At Robinson ISD we deploy a very Comprehensive School Safety Program that partially consist of

  • Access control for Every Campus

  • Security vestibules w/ visitor screening

  • comprehensive Surveillance cameras and monitoring

  • Locked Classrooms

  • and many additional measures kept private

  • (New to campuses) Weapons detection screening for visitors

Armed Protection of Campuses

  • School Marshals-Each Campus is protected by Armed Marshals that are highly trained and certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement School Marshals

  • City of Robinson Police Department(Located less than 1 mile from each campus in the district

  • Partnerships with DPS/McLennan County Sheriffs dept.

Reunification Instructions for Parents and Staff

The following video demonstrates the reunification process we will follow if students need to be relocated. We will most likely use a technology driven method used with our RAPTOR APP to complete this process and we may also use a process where parents stay in their cars at the site to pickup students. Those instructions will be sent to parents, along with the site and time for pickup, if reunification is needed. Please make sure you bring a photo ID
