District Accountability Ratings Announced

AUSTIN – (August 8, 2014) The Texas Education Agency today released the 2014 state accountability system ratings for more than 1,200 school districts and charters, and more than 8,500 campuses.


Attention all 7th Grade Parents

Attention All 7th grade Parents. We are implementing a Pilot Program in our 7th grade that allows each 7th grader to receive an Acer  Chromebook to use during the school year. There is a mandatory parent meeting at the JR High cafetorium @6:00pm on  September 23rd if your child’s last name ends with A thru H, or September 24th if their last name ends in I thru Z.

The 2013 legislative session brought many changes for school districts.  Included in HB5 is the community and student engagement component as a local evaluation tool. In RISD,district and campus site based decision making committees created criteria and evaluated programs as an opportunity for us to showcase areas of excellence as well as recognize areas in need of improvement and set future goals valued in the community.
