CTE Student Showcase - Ag Mech (Welding)
“My favorite thing we’ve done in Ag Mech this year is competing in events like H.O.T. and the county competition because we got to demonstrate our skills, and win awards. It felt great to see our hard work pay off. What I love most about my Ag Mech class is that it’s just me and Addison, so we get more hands-on experience and are able to get more work done while still having fun and enjoying the class. In the future, I plan to become a veterinarian, so I may not use Ag Mech skills every day in my career, but the skills I’ve learned are still very valuable.” ~ Korbin Stecher-Stroud
My favorite thing that we've done in Ag Mech this year was taking our Santa Maria grill to the county show. The thing I love most about my Ag Mech class is the freedom we get in our projects. We can make something we need and have creative liberty. In the future these classes will help me because it helps me to be more independent. I also have been offered an internship from this class, which will definitely help me in the future.” ~ Addison Schwartz

CTE Student Showcase - Floral Design
“My favorite thing that I've done in floral this year is when we went to make the flowers for the buyers table for county. I think it really helped me with how I'll make my designs in the future and was a good way to practice. What I love most about floral design is getting to take home pretty flowers every month. Floral design class will definitely help me in the future because I really want to be an Ag teacher and I could teach two different Ag classes like Mrs Clark does.” ~ Karissa Treat
“My favorite thing we have done in Floral this year is being a part of Rocket Roses, and seeing teacher's faces light up when they see the arrangements that our very own Rockets have designed. What I love most about our Floral class is the culture. Mrs. Clark has created an environment where we all feel safe, comfortable, and encouraged to have a fun time! Being in Floral has taught me how to communicate in a professional manner, while also working efficiently. If I want to work in the floral industry outside of high school, I now have these skills to help take my first step to do so.” ~ Hallie Hale

In honor of CTE Month, we celebrate Mrs. Clark!
Mrs. Clark leads Floral Design, Advanced Floral Design, Practicum in Ag, and Capstone in Ag—core courses in our Plant Science pathway. Her Rocket Roses students run the flower shop like a real business, and her proudest moment this year was watching them take full ownership—problem-solving, communicating, and supporting one another. Her favorite project was the Robinson Rockets Rose Bowl Parade, where students designed parade‑worthy floats from all‑natural materials and brought their visions to life. Her Practicum students are working at Denise’s and Valerie’s as part of their course, gaining real world experience. Thank you, Mrs. Clark, for growing creativity and real-world skills! 🌹✨

CTE Student Showcase - Animal Science
“My favorite thing we have done in Animal Science was the Feed Processing Project. We chose what processing technique we wanted to re-create, then brought a candy and a tool that would show the technique. I had the crushing/grinding process, so I used smarties to represent the feed and a rolling pin to use as the crushing/grinding. I love the atmosphere and way of learning the most in my animal science class. Everyone is very kind and willing to help one another understand the topic. I love the unique group projects and it really helps me learn from a different perspective. Animal Science will help me in the future because animals are my passion and I always somehow end up around them. Therefore, this class will help me understand animals better.” ~ Natalie McCollum

CTE Student Showcase - Principles of Agriculture
“My favorite thing we have done this year in Principles of Ag has to be learning about how to read notches on a pig's ears. The thing I love most about this class has to be how easy you're able to get a hang of what you're learning. For example when learning how to read the notches on pig's ears you just had to memorize where the notches would be to correspond to the number, such as the left ear tip means 81. The Principles of Ag class will help me in the future because it has taught me many common things I should know like the breeds of pigs, goats, sheep, and cattle. Whenever I own my own land and are able to purchase farm animals, I'll know the basic knowledge to be able to identify the correct breed without much trouble.” ~ Alivia Soukup
“My favorite thing I've done in ag this year was probably learning about different types of farm animals. I love how interesting the class is. I feel like everyday I learn something new. It will help me in the future if I ever decide to pick a job in agriculture.” ~ Audree Harris

Today begins FFA Week! FFA is one of our CTE Student Organizations. Texas Future Farmers of America (FFA) is a dynamic student-led leadership development organization for students of agricultural education. The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Agriculture education is very broad and covers landscaping, floriculture, animal science, computer applications, accounting, environmental science, mechanics, and engineering. Regardless of an FFA member's career choice, the FFA provides opportunities to build and apply math, science, technology, and leadership skills to their life. The Robinson FFA chapter has been going strong since 1971! We have a very strong group of FFA students, and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments this year!

CTE Student and Program Showcase
Have you spotted our new game day table? This has been a collaborative project between Carpentry and Digital Media — crafted by Carpentry students to be used by Rocket Vision for future broadcasts. The plan is to begin Rocket Vision training to stream home games with Mr. Jenkins and Mr. Thomas. And, Mr. Kieso and his Carpentry students have already started plans for a mobile game day table that can be used for our outdoor games. The future is bright for both programs! 🔧🎥

CTE Student Showcase - Exercise Science
“My favorite thing that we have done this year would have to be using a goniometer testing our range of motions. I love the fact that what I'm learning in class will actually translate to the career I want to pursue in the future. Kinesiology will help me know all the bodily functions and movements and things like that to be able to help people in the world the job I decide to pursue.” ~ Cash Parsons
“My favorite thing we’ve done is the hands-on stuff like learning about injuries, taping, and how different muscles work, because it’s very interesting and you actually get to apply what you’re learning. I like that the class is interactive and connects to real life, especially with sports and fitness. It makes learning about the body way more understandable. Kinesiology will help me in the future by teaching me how the body moves and how to prevent injuries, which is useful for sports, future careers in health, or fitness in general.” ~ Mia Waller

CTE Student Showcase - Medical Terminology
“My favorite thing we have done in Med Term this year is the career case, because it allowed me to have a larger look at my potential future career. What I love about Med Term is doing labs that allow us to have a look into what some medical careers deal with. For example, we have been looking at bacteria around the school which gives us a look into the career of Bacteriologists and Microbiologists. I also love Med Term because it will help me in the future. For example, knowing medical terminology will help me communicate more proficiently and clearly, as it is used in the medical field daily. I also love that it teaches me the criteria I need to understand in order to be successful in my future career.” ~ Kaislee Moore
